Dedication’s what you need!
We are optimistic we will succeed in setting the first ever Guinness World Record for the largest dish of bacterially fermented sauerkraut.
Assuming we do, the plan was always that we would encourage others to host the event in the future to try to beat our record. The more times the record is attempted, the more people will be taught to make sauerkraut for themselves. That was always our underlying goal.
Do you think you might like to be a “Record -Breaker”?
This has been an incredible experience for us and for the volunteers and choppers involved. We have run the process smoothly and with great success once now - we have invented the wheel for others to follow.
Would you like to help teach others to ferment on a massive scale?
We taught over 150 people to make sauerkraut at Sauerkrautathon 2018. Could you teach more people in 6 hours?
Would you like to use our structure and documentation to make it as easy as possible for you to do?
We would just love to help others stage the next Sauerkrautathon. We have worked tirelessly to come up with a seamless system to do this in accordance with food hygiene and health and safety requirements. And in compliance with Guinness’s requirements too.
Due to all this groundwork, the day ran incredibly smoothly and we had a wonderful time teaching people how to make sauerkraut, whilst fantastic speakers explained why veg. (including fermented veg.) is important to gut health.
Choppers worked their way through the 445kgs of vegetables in 6 hours and now that lovely community sauerkraut is fermenting away in the lead-up to the final weigh in.
